i brake for trains

On the way home from work tonight, I saw a van that had a large black & white bumpersticker. it proclaimed that "I BRAKE FOR TRAINS".

I don't know many people who fail to brake for trains. If you fail to do so... it gets a little messy.

E & I went to lunch at a Chinese buffet today. I don't know why we go there. The Sushi has been cooked (very slightly to keep it from spoiling on the unattended tray... but still), they have macaroni & cheese, chicken nuggets, & salsa on the bar... and they play Shania @*(&ing Twain over and over...

This place must only own one CD... and it skips. -__-

I'm getting tired of my job. The last few days I've done nothign but clean up after someone's mistake at the factory months ago. Granted I'm not alone, all of us are doing it. It's a problem with serial numbers being missing from a database. But I seem to be the only one concerned that we first told customers they'd be able to use the product in 3 days. Then when they all called back, we told them it'd be five more days. I have some customers who have been waiting 15 days to activate.

The dealers are getting mad. We have almost 300 people on the floor who are telling at least 299 different stories about what's causing the problem & delays.

And of course, tonight I cornered a supervisor and she finally admitted that the "official" story is just that... a story.

anyone interested in hiring me to make witty comments and be friendly?

Anyway... I'm considering building my first computer. Yes... I read the latest MaximumPC. I've really wanted to build my own computer for ages, but just didn't know where to starts.

I told a friend at work, and showed her the article. Her only comment "You better not put Windows on it."

In other news, and the final item for now, I've downloaded my Open Diary... It should be on my personal site soon... I'm thinking I should steal all the notes too... for some reason, they decided we didn't need/want the notes too.

Some people just don't get it.

Looking over an email that Amazon sends me (You might get it too) called "Bizarre Bazaar" . This issue's topic happens to be Barbie, and they're sharing many strange Barbie Dolls... including this one: Amazon.com: buying info: Sign Language Barbie. I guess it's good to have a Barbie doll to represent other minorities in our society... but come on. Does every deaf person you know wander around making the sign for "I Love You" at all times.

Kids use their imagination. No one ever said that "regular" Barbie couldn't be deaf.

Sorry... rants happen ^___^

Anyway... before I get WAY off course, this is what I wanted to talk about. A customer review of the product:

In a house with a non-verbal child my other child, five can now say 'I love you' because of this doll and is interested in learning more sign with the hope that her mentally challenged 9 year old brother can understand her. The small trappings included like the stickers and the board are eventually useless. What works is that it introduces someone at this age to alternative ways to communicate with the differently abled. What about an audio tape with it. However, it is in the same category as the doll in the Wheel Chair leading a 'normal' life.

Lady... It's a DEAF doll... I don't think an audio tape will be appropriate...

Then again... I could be wrong.

What can I say... it's heading toward 6am, I have to be up by noon. I don't think I'm going to get much sleep tonight. Doesn't matter I guess.

K (the boss lady for those that aren't in the now, and if you're not... why are you here? lol) didn't yell at me today. She just didn't have time. I'm beginning to think she doesn't care anymore. Big hint: when she said "I don't care anymore". I'm a regular Miss Cleo, I tell you. She might not even write me up for being out. This place is weird. I've earned sickdays, but if I use them, I get wrote up.

We're also not allowed to read things that aren't business related. Since I take one call a day on Saturdays and Sundays... I mainly stare off into space for 9 hours.

The reason I was out sick is that one of my teeth broke in half. I get the first cavity of my life... and the tooth falls apart! Just my luck. I should never have started brushing. >_>

Because of the tooth breaking, I now have to have a root canal and a cap. It's not too bad, $600 for the whole thing. The cap alone should be $1200 but I have great dental insurance. I also got a new dentist out of the deal. It's a big place. They have 40 exam rooms and 9 dentists on staff. They take up a whole floor of an office building near Presbyterian Hospital. The only thing I find weird about the place is the Dungeons & Dragons type paintings on the walls in the hallway to the exam rooms. Most Doctor's Offices have nice safe prints on the walls. This guy has Wizards, Dragons, and a guy in a suit of armor covering the walls. I guess I kinda like it!

Anywhoo... I'm either off to bed, or to play more Diablo 2. Either way... wish me luck.
